THE POLISH CULTURAL INSTITUTE presents a curated collection of 3 acclaimed Polish animation, drama and documentary:

STORY (Jola Bankowska, 2019, 5 mins). A reflection about modern man in an age of omnipresent technology. Action takes place during one day and it’s told by short, often (auto)ironic scenes, where virtual world sinks to reality.

HARDA (Marcin Polar, 2019, 14 mins). The camera follows Jaroslaw Surmacz’s step by step discovery of Harda (The Tough) Cave in the Tatra Mountains in Poland, taking part in the exploration of spaces never seen before, which increasingly resist the delicate human matter.

SETTLING THE SCORE (Zuzanna Grajcewicz, 2019. 13 mins). The film tells a story of elderly woman Halina who makes a difficult decision and stands up for justice and her own dignity. Settling the score is an attempt to address the problem of marginalization of elderly people’s needs and their quality of life.

Plus the screen premiere of a new film introducing the exclusive exhibition, The Young Polish, that’s coming to the William Morris Gallery in Waltham Forest this Autumn.
