A tribute to late, great Polish jazz musician and composer Tomasz Stańko on the 80th anniversary of his birth, featuring the BBC Concert Orchestra.

A special tribute concert to late, great Polish jazz musician and composer Tomasz Stańko on the 80th anniversary of his birth.

Paying homage will be members of the Tomasz Stańko Quartet, BBC Concert Orchestra and up-and-coming performers.

Performers will include:

  • The BBC Concert Orchestra
  • Avishai Cohen trumpet
  • Marcin Wasilewski Trio

Stańko first gained international recognition in the 1960s. His career had a revival in the 1990s, with ten standout albums over the next two decades.

As the Tomasz Stańko Quartet, the players of the Marcin Wasilewski Trio shared a unique chemistry with Stańko over 15 years of their collaboration.

They will be joined on the night by a special guest trumpeter.
