Tomasz Lis at the Brompton Oratory
’The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it’
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died on the 5th of December 1791 at 12.55am aged 35.
To celebrate his genius, a distinguished Polish pianist Tomasz Lis will perform a recital of works by him and Johann Sebastian Bach at the gorgeous St. Wilfrid‘s Hall of the London Brompton Oratory.
Programme will include:
W.A.Mozart – Fantasia in C minor, KV 396
J.S.Bach – Partita No 2 in C minor BWV 826
W.A.Mozart – Adagio in B minor KV 540
J.S.Bach – Prelude & Fugue in B minor BWV 869 from Book I of Das Wohltemperierte Klavier
J.S.Bach – Prelude & Fugue in D major BWV 874 from Book II of Das Wohltemperierte Klavier
J.S.Bach – Partita in D major No 4 in D major BWV 828
Holocaust Memorial Day: Fragments of the Past
Come to the British Library on the 27th of January 2025 for a special event commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day, featuring insightful presentations on the lasting impact of the Holocaust on memory, identity, and culture. Co-organised by the Polish Cultural Institute in London.
