Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński to open Wigmore Hall 2024/2025 season

The extraordinary Polish countertenor (and breakdancer) Jakub Jozef Orlinski makes a return to Wigmore Hall on the 12th of September (Booking opens 30th April)

12th September, 7:30pm, Wigmore Hall, London (Ticket Booking from 30th April)

Wigmore Hall’s recently announced 2024/2025 season (Sept-Dec) will open with a return by the extraordinary Polish countertenor (and breakdancer) Jakub Jozef Orlinski, whose artistry and personality come together to form an irresistibly appealing combination.

As the winner of numerous awards – among them a Gramophone Classical Music Award (2019), an International Opera Award (2021) and an International Classical Music Award (2022) – his gifts have allowed him to bring the countertenor voice to new audiences worldwide, as well as to extend the repertoire possibilities of the voice itself.

His programme, performed with the period-instrument ensemble, il Pomo d’Oro, which celebrates 12 years in 2024, shares an early Baroque repertoire – much of it unfamiliar – with his latest CD, Beyond.

The programme will include works by Monteverdi, Strozzi & Cesare Netti amongst others.

Priority Booking for this concert will open to Friends of Wigmore Hall from Wednesday 17 April at 10.00am. For a full breakdown of booking dates, please visit our Priority Booking page.

General sale for this concert will open at 10.00am on Tuesday 30 April.
