JAZZ JAM SESSION @ POSK – 6TH OCTOBER 2024

Another edition of the popular Jazz Jam Session at POSK studio with a chance to meet and perform with professional musicians from the London jazz scene as well as emerging stars.

6th October, 6:30pm, POSK Studio, 238-246 King Street, London W6 0RF, UK

Another edition of the Jam Jazz Session at POSK – a unique event for all fans and lovers of jazz music in London.

The October edition will be held after the “Small Academy of Jazz” which will take place earlier that day and the Jam Jazz Session will also be a part of the “Small Academy of Jazz”

The improvisational Jazz Jam Session (starting at 6:30 pm) is mainly aimed at professional musicians, and will be led once again by pianist Tomasz Zyrmont with his excellent trio, featuring Ben Hazleton on double bass and Filippo Galli on drums.

Each of them is already a recognised artist on the London jazz scene. After actively participating in the “Small Academy of Jazz”, the trio will accompany instrumentalists and vocalists who wish to perform (jazz standards) in a friendly and creative atmosphere.

Guest saxophonist Marek Konarski, the main pillar and host of the “Small Academy of Jazz” event, will also make a special appearance.

Marek has performed at major European festivals such as the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and London Jazz Festival, and venues like Ronnie Scott’s and Pizza Express.

The Jam Session is an excellent opportunity to meet (on stage and at the table) professional musicians from the London jazz scene as well as new, emerging stars.

Every musician, listener, and jazz enthusiast is invited.

The organisers of the October jam will announce several other excellent guests and will present one exceptionally promising young musician (a participant of the Small Academy of Jazz).

Tickets can be purchased at the door before the jam or through the Eventbrite service.

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
