BCLT Summer School @the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK

Applications for the Summer School are now OPEN, featuring a workshop with Antonia Lloyd-Jones. Deadline - 16th of March 2025

Date: Sunday 27th July – Saturday 2nd August 2025

Deadline for applications – Sunday 16th March 2025!

The workshop strands for 2025 are:

  • Danish-English – led by Paul Russell Garrett, with Danish author Eva Tind
  • French-English – led by Vineet Lal, with Swiss author Bruno Pellegrino
  • Korean (editing workshop) – led by Clare Richards with professional editor Tamara Sampey-Jawad (Fitzcarraldo Editions)This workshop will focus on editing. A professional UK editor (Tamara Sampey-Jawad, Fitzcarraldo Editions) will be present during the workshop to offer feedback.
  • Literature from Flanders – led by Kristen Gehrman with Flemish author Jean-Claude van RijckeghemThis workshop is for Dutch-English literary translators. You do not need to have experience of translating Flemish literature.
  • Multilingual Literary Non-Fiction – led by Daniel Hahn
  • Multilingual Prose – led by Nashwa Nasreldin
  • Polish-English – led by Antonia Lloyd-Jones with Polish author Jacek Dehnel
  • One more workshop strand will be announced soon – this workshop will be open to Spanish-English literary translators – more details to follow. Applications are not yet open for this workshop strand, but email bclt@uea.ac.uk if you would like to receive more information when it is available.

The Summer School will be taking place in-person at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, Sunday 27th July – Saturday 2nd August 2025.
