Westerplatte – WWII’s Forgotten First Battle – Video by historian Dr Mark Felton

Learn more about what happened on 1 September 1939 when World War II erupted in the city state of Danzig. The first shots were fired by a WWI German battleship. What followed, called the Battle of Westerplatte, is a heroic story of Polish resistance to the German invaders.
