==================================================================================

We visited Eilat on Thursday at the Red Sea Jazz Festival and met the members of Motion Trio. An award winning Polish band with three members who offer breath-taking adaptations of the electric accordion and gift the Israeli and global audiences with excellent musical compositions based on Chopin. Shostakovich, and even inspired by computer games.

The members are Janusz Wojtarowicz, Marcin Galazyn, and Pawel Baranek. This is their second show in Israel in a decade, the first concert was held during summer time when it was 40 degrees under artistic directors Eli Degibri and Dov Lentz. Degibri presented the band and wished better health to Lentz who was unable to attend.

“I have been playing the accordion for 45 years,” Wojtaroeicz said to the Israeli audience, “and I can feel your soul through the instrument and you are amazing.” The crowd responded with unusual warmth and the ovations brought band members to the stage after the show was officially over to offer two encores.

In addition to the works mentioned, the members played music inspired by blues, tango, and the first day of spring in Poland. After the great show, Institute Tel Aviv Director Anna Raduchowska Brochwicz met the band members behind the stage, thanked them for an excellent performance, and discussed with them how we may advance Polish Jazz in Israel.
