The important festival that marks 60 years of its existence opens its gates online due to the current situation and welcomes enthusiastic viewers from all over the world.

The festival will be held from May 31 until June 7, 2020.

This year, tickets will be cheaper and it will be possible to watch the first releases of several excellent movies which were made this year in Poland and in Europe.

The Krakow Festival is one of the oldest and most important ones in Poland and usually focuses on documentary movies, cartoons and short films.

Some of the leading names of the movie industry will be on the jury at the movie competition. This will be an opportunity to watch great movies leaning back in an armchair at home. Among the hot names on the jury will be Jan Komasa, the Polish Oscar nominee for Corpus Christi and Lukasz Zal, best known for his brilliant photography work on the film Ida, which won the Oscar for best foreign language film.

The festival will open with a documentary movie “Pollywood” by Pawel Fredek. It’s a personal journey to America in the wake of Eastern European founders of Hollywood such as Samuel Goldwyn, Louis B. Mayer and the Warner brothers. This is also an universal and touching tale about dreams, courage and withdrawal and also the story of the dream factory with contemporary Hollywood in the background.
