June 14th is the date of the first transport to Auschwitz

On June 14, 1940, the first transport arrived in Auschwitz - Since 2006, June 14 became a Remembrance Day in Poland         

On June 14, 1940, the first transport carrying 728 Polish inmates from Tarnow arrived in Auschwitz.

298 of them survived the horror.

The last one of those inmates, Kazimierz Albin, died at the age of 96 on July 22, 2019.

Since 2006, June 14 became a Remembrance Day in Poland.

More than 250 participants attended the Polish

On 18–19 June 2026, the first edition of Polish Communities Days took place at the Ennis Cultural Centre in Jaffa. The conference was a unique event dedicated to dialogue, cooperation, and relationship-building among communities, institutions, and local governments from Poland and Israel.
