Joseph Bau in Haifa

A special seminar and exhibition of Joseph Bau's works will be held at the University of Haifa Library on April 1

A seminar and exhibition of the works of Joseph Bau – an Israeli-Polish publicist, illustrator, writer and poet – will be held at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library at the University of Haifa.

Joseph Bau was born and raised in Krakow and immigrated to Israel in 1950. Despite the traumatic memories of the Holocaust, his works are imbued with an extraordinary sense of humor. As one of the pioneers of animated films in Israel, Bau designed opening titles for Israeli films in the 1960s and 1970s, and also created numerous advertisements. Exhibitions of his work have been shown in Spain, Canada, and Poland, among others.
