How accurate is the popular claim that Polish Jews played a key role in the building of Israel? How did this community develop, during which periods did it arrive to Israel, and how did it maintain its ties to Polish culture?
During the tour we will visit sites that once housed, among others, the legendary Neustein bookstore, the Polish–Palestinian Chamber of Commerce, and the Tel Aviv branch of PKO – the Polish National Bank. Along the way, we will learn about the people, institutions, and initiatives that helped shape both the city and the future state.
The tour will be conducted in Hebrew and will last approximately two hours. The meeting and ending point is the entrance to Beit Psagot , 3 Rothschild Boulevard, Tel Aviv. Refreshments and wine will be served at the Polish Institute following the tour.
Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required. Places are limited.
We look forward to seeing you!
