We are delighted to invite you to the seventh meeting in the series!
The series was created out of a desire to provide a regular space where Polish speakers in Israel can meet, get to know new people, talk and spend time together — connected by the Polish language and culture. During these events, the Polish Institute’s library becomes an open and welcoming space that is about much more than literature: a place for meeting, conversation, curiosity and connection.
This time, we will explore improvisation in movement.
Is improvisation only for professional actors or musicians? Not at all. It is a way to experiment, listen, respond and act without knowing in advance what will happen.
We will meet for an open improvisation workshop in Polish, designed also for those with no previous stage experience. The workshop will include movement, simple exercises and plenty of lightness, through which we will explore some of the basic principles of improv: listening, acceptance, response and the ability to be present in the here and now.
Improvisation is a way of being present in the moment and responding to what is happening around us. It allows us to practice dealing with uncertainty, let go a little of the need for control and discover our spontaneity — not only on stage, but also in everyday life.
No previous experience is required — and you don’t need to know what to expect. Just come, try it out, play and enjoy!
The workshop will be led by Ewa Szubstarska, a teacher and artist who works with improvisation as a tool for creativity and presence.
