Andrzej Klimowski

This six-minute documentary film explores the life and work of Andrzej Klimowski.

In it, author and historian David Crowley situates Klimowski’s work within the history of poster design, highlighting the differences between East and West, Hollywood in the 1970s and Communist Poland; Stephen and Timothy Quay discuss their love of Polish design and their admiration for Klimowski’s imaginative approach to creating posters; and designer Jeff Willis talks about the formal aspects of Klimowski’s work. Klimowski himself discusses his early career, his mentor Henryk Tomaszewski and why he was drawn to poster design and the Polish tradition.
