Mloda Polska: An introduction to the Arts and Crafts of Young Poland

Digital book launch at Ognisko Polskie/Polish Hearth and a panel discussion about the 10 beautiful objects featured in the upcoming publication.

Young Poland: The Polish Arts and Crafts Movement, 1890–1918, Edited by Julia Griffin and Andrzej Szczerski, is a new publication in partnership with William Morris Gallery and National Museum in Krakow, and in association with Lund Humphries. Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage within the framework of the Inspiring Culture Programme.

This ground-breaking study is the first book in any language to explore the Young Poland (Młoda Polska) period in the context of the international Arts and Crafts movements. Edited by art historians Julia Griffin and Andrzej Szczerski – who uniquely combine expertise in Polish and British design. The book will be published at the end of November 2020 ahead of a major exhibition on the subject at William Morris Gallery in Autumn 2021.

Ognisko Polskie/Polish Hearth will hold a digital book launch with its authors Andrzej Szczerski and Julia Griffin, as well as the William Morris Gallery curator Roisin Ingleby, on the 27th November, 7PM.

Polish Culture Festival in the UK @

The Polish Social and Cultural Centre (POSK) and the Pomysłodalnia Foundation have launched an open call for UK-based Polish poets and artists to join the inaugural "Polish, Very Polish" festival in London from 12–20 September 2026. Submissions for the digital anthology and live poetry slam are open until 31 July 2026.
