Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet @ Jazz Cafe Camden

The return of the popular and established Polish Jazz-funk group to "home of jazz" Jazz Cafe Camden.

19th April, 7pm, Jazz Cafe, Camden Parkway

The Polish Jazz-Funk supergroup are back to perform their latest album, Spirit To All, after numerous sell-out shows in London’s home for jazz.

Until 2020 we were touring the world and despite all the travel limitations that followed, we wanted to say: we are here, we are all in it together. This album is about spiritual needs, limitless and loving understanding, about compassionate development.”

Having played together for over 10 years, WMQ share a deep and innate connection that’s palpable throughout their music. Spirit To All is a cathartic manifestation of Mazolewski’s inspiring intentions, “It made us come together again and reawaken the sense of adventure. We feel truly reborn as a band.”

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
