“A very good small jazz choir with a tight sound and solid swing”. (Comments by the judges at the Voice Festival 2017 about Alle Choir London)

Since musical director Marta Mathea Radwan founded Alle Choir London in 2015, they’ve added a wealth of jazz classics, modern vocal compositions, and traditional material to their repertoire – mostly a cappella, occasionally with cool instrumental backing.

As well as jazz, they sing traditional material (such as winter and Christmas music) – with a non-traditional twist.

The choie won the grand prix of the Top Star Festival Online and the 3rd prize in the Unlock Your Talent competition. In 2017 Alle Choir London was picked to compete on TV show Pitch Battle on BBC One.

For the concert on April 29 at Jazz Café POSK, they have prepared a mix of standards, Polish jazz songs, and a cappella versions of Chopin’s works, all in jazz arrangements, and with a large dose of improvisation.

For this occasion, they will be joined on stage by a former “Swingle” singer Kevin Fox & choir Nordic Blue from Norway.

Klaudia Baca – vocals

Gosia Janek – vocals

Anita Łazińska – vocals, piano

Nordic Blue is a group of six singers from Norway who promise to make you smile and enjoy the moments of their vocal music. The singers love to share exciting sounds – mainly jazz and pop – preferably in their own arrangements.

For this concert they will perform some smooth jazz, lively and atmospheric Scandinavian tunes, swing, lullabies, and rhythmic pieces – from Sara Bareilles and Rickie Lee Jones to Take 6 and The Real Group.

Sissel Havik – soprano

Arild Pytte-Solum – tenor

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
