One of Poland’s legendary outdoor theatre companies will perform at Bell Square, an exciting outdoor arts space in the heart of Hounslow town centre.

Bell Square is the exciting outdoor arts space in the heart of Hounslow town centre that brings together Hounslow’s communities and attracts visitors to enjoy free outdoor cultural performances.

On Saturday 21 October one of Poland’s legendary outdoor theatre companies returns to Bell Square, with Arcadia, looking at life – its big moments, its memories – as a simple, innocent, poignant reflection of everything that is most cruel and beautiful. 

Founded in 1977 and still led by director Jerzy Zoń, Teatr KTO (KTO Theatre) has performed over 80 productions – indoors and outdoors in Poland and around the world – attended by more than 3 million people.

The company has visited over 250 cities in over 40 countries on 5 continents and has performed in Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Iran, Mexico, South Korea, Tunisia, the USA, and almost all the countries in Europe.

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
