Anglo-Polish Cultural Exchange Festival – The Second World War Through Polish Eyes 1-2 Nov
1st & 2nd November, Polish Social and Cultural Association POSK, London
The second annual Anglo-Polish Cultural Exchange Festival focuses on the experience of the Second World War and its legacy within the UK’s Polish community. The centrepiece of the event, facilitated by Oxford University’s Their Finest Hour project, will be the opportunity for members of the public to contribute their experiences of the war to an online archive of family memories and images from among the wider British public.
The carefully curated schedule of talks and panels explores the war and émigré identities from different perspectives: those of the visual arts and literature, as well as the role played by heritage organisations or the challenges faced by authors who publish on Anglo-Polish topics.
A range of historians, translators and research institutions will be available to assist the many Polish and British people wishing to learn more about Anglo-Polish history and perspectives.
