Discover the captivating allure of Baltic amber in Baltic Amber: Other Criteria, an exhibition hosted by Gosia Oldakowski-Pacak and Andrzej Pacak, celebrating this ancient gem’s artistry and contemporary design. Curated by professor Sławomir Fijałkowski and organised by the International Amber Association, this exhibition is a journey through amber’s rich history and its renewed significance in modern craftsmanship. With nearly 30 years of expertise, the Association has long championed the cultural and artistic value of amber on a global stage.

At the core of the exhibition is a carefully curated collection of over 50 pieces from leading amber artisans. This selection includes prize-winning works from the Amberif Design Award and the International Jewellery Competitions in Legnica, showcasing the skill and innovation of both established and emerging artists from Poland and beyond. Among the distinguished participants are master jewellers as well as renowned design studios.

The exhibition also looks to the future, featuring prototypes that harness cutting-edge CAD/CAM and 3D printing techniques, alongside works exploring virtual and augmented reality. These pieces reveal amber’s visionary potential in contemporary design.

Opening during the prestigious Legnica SILVER Festival—Poland’s most notable event in contemporary goldsmithing—Baltic Amber: Other Criteria sets a benchmark for future amber showcases. This focused presentation captures the essence of original amber art and offers a compelling glimpse into its evolution. As a platform for dialogue, the exhibition embodies the values of independent, transparent promotion of amber, celebrating its aesthetic, cultural, and material uniqueness.
