The Ball is one of the most prestigious events in the calendar of British Polonia.

The Ball is a fundraising event and each year, money is raised for various charitable causes. This year, the beneficiaries will be the Hospice of Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz in Gdansk (Hospicjum Dutkiewicza).

One of the aims of the ball is to promote Polish culture and history in the UK as well as to consolidate Polish-British relations. Because of this, each year there is a theme to the ball which is either a historical event or an important cultural figure. Last year this was the Reszke brothers.
