Tomasz Zyrmont Quartet @ Ognisko Polskie – Polish Hearth Club

On Saturday 11th January, 2025, Tomasz Zyrmont will perform with his acoustic quartet at Ognisko Polskie – Polish Hearth Club, joined by leading musicians from London’s jazz scene: saxophonist Sean Khan, double bassist Ben Hazleton, and drummer Filippo Galli. Tomasz regularly collaborates with these musicians across various formations, and together they are seen on the finest stages in the UK and internationally.

The quartet will present Tomasz’s original compositions alongside works by jazz legends, promising an unforgettable night that will leave a lasting impression on all in attendance.

Tomasz Zyrmont is an acclaimed jazz pianist and composer whose performances have captivated audiences at prominent venues and festivals, including the London Jazz Festival, East European Jazz Festival, Wigmore Hall Lates, Yamaha Music Live, and the Jazz FM Discovery Show.

A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied jazz piano, Tomasz furthered his training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. His career has spanned performances across Poland, the UK, Germany, the USA, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. In London, where he currently resides and composes, he has performed at such iconic venues as the British Parliament, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, the 606 Club, and Boisdale Canary Wharf.

Tomasz’s work has reached audiences worldwide through broadcasts on Jazz FM, Polish Radio London, Belgrade 202, Radio Jazz.FM, and Near FM Dublin. As the leader of Groove Razors, the Interphase Quartet, and his own trio and quartet, Having recorded two albums to date, Tomasz is now preparing for his third.

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
