‘Whispers’ by Oskar Zięta @ the London Festival of Architecture

Join us in celebrating this unique artistic partnership, where innovation, culture, and community come together in the heart of London. Part of the UK/Poland Season 2025. Live Launch Event on the 29th May.

Dates: 29 May – 28 September 2025, Launch event 29th May outside of One New Ludgate, 60 Ludgate Hill, City of London, EC4M 7AW

As part of the London Festival of Architecture and the UK/Poland Season 2025, the Fleet Street Quarter proudly presents “Whispers”, an innovative sculptural installation by renowned Polish designer Oskar Zięta. This commission celebrates the enduring creative partnership between Poland and the UK, highlighting the fusion of art, technology and public engagement.

Zięta, celebrated for his pioneering FiDU (Freie Innendruck Umformung) technology, transforms flat metal sheets into lightweight, three-dimensional forms using internal air pressure. This process results in dynamic, organic structures that redefine contemporary design and engineering.

Set to be unveiled at Ludgate Hill on the morning of the 29th of May, Whispers will come to life in a thrilling live event, where members of the public will actively participate in its inflation. This interactive moment embodies the spirit of cross-cultural collaboration, inviting audiences to experience cutting-edge design in real time.

Whether spoken softly, in hushed tones, or even in whispers—sitting together in a circle, we can break down barriers and connect meaningfully. Our aspiration is for Londoners to join us in breathing life into ‘Whispers’… Designing public and private spaces, as well as entire cities, would be meaningless without the voices that shape them. These voices are numerous—often contradictory, and sometimes silent. Let architecture empower people to speak—whether in a firm voice or a whisper.’ (Oskar Zięta)

The inflation will be followed by a talk “A Quiet Place in a Noisy City” in which Ben Russell, Curator of Mechanical Engineering at Science Museum and Oskar Zięta will discuss the inspiration and science behind Oskar’s work, from 12:00–13:00.
