Plantation Workshop with artist Alicja Patanowska

Part of the London Festival of Architecture, this special workshop in which art and nature come together, will be led by artist Alicja Patanowska, who will guide participants through the process of creating their own living art pieces using eco-friendly materials and exploring the principles of sustainable design.

Come along to a unique workshop led by Alicja Patanowska, the designer behind Plantation, the award-winning installation which became the first artist installation in the new Urban Farmer Project in the heart of the City of London.

Co-organised with the Polish Cultural Institute and On&On Designs. In this interactive workshop, in the spirit of Alicja’s Plantation installation, you’ll learn how to craft stunning plant arrangements using eco-friendly materials while exploring the principles of sustainable design.

Alicja will guide you through the process of creating living art pieces, showcasing how plants can be incorporated into home and office spaces to enhance well-being and reduce environmental impact.

The workshop is perfect for anyone, regardless of prior experience, and participants will leave with their own handmade plant arrangement to take home.

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
