Five leading Polish artists – Cosmodernism, Agnieszka Mastalerz, panGenerator, Janek Simon and Iga Węglińska explore how technology is reshaping our sensory landscape in this engaging exhibition. Opens 20th September in London.

Five leading Polish artists – Cosmodernism, Agnieszka Mastalerz, panGenerator, Janek Simon and Iga Węglińska – explore how technology is reshaping our sensory landscape in Elusive Sense: On the Fluid Boundaries of Perception. The exhibition, curated by Anna Szylar, forms a key part of the UK/Poland Season 2025, a programme of over 100 cultural events across both countries.

Staged in two parts, the show opens at Centerspace, Bristol (5–18 September) before moving to art’otel London Hoxton (21 September – 4 October), coinciding with the London Design Festival. More info here.

A London preview will be held on Saturday 20 September, 6pm, with talks and events running throughout the exhibition.

Through immersive works spanning wearable technology, digital art, AI, and experimental design, the artists interrogate pressing questions:

  • Does technology expand or diminish our senses?
  • Are digital systems tools of survival, or do they erode authentic human contact?
  • Can AI enrich culture, or does it flatten identity?

Highlights include panGenerator’s interactive installation turning selfies into ash, Cosmodernism’s microscopic living ecosystems that mimic computer-generated worlds, and Janek Simon’s Meta Folklore series questioning AI’s role in shaping heritage. Węglińska and Mastalerz offer contrasting perspectives on the body, communication, and control in a technologically saturated age.

“Elusive Sense invites viewers into a space of active reflection on our cyborgian present,” says curator Anna Szylar.

The exhibition is organised by the Creative Industries Institute  & Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, with support from On&On Designs, the Polish Cultural Institute in London.
