Tomasz Zyrmont Quartet @ the EFG London Jazz Festival 2025, 16th Nov

Blending lyrical sensitivity with bold rhythmic drive, and balancing modern creativity with deep respect for jazz tradition, the Tomasz Zyrmont quartet's regularly sold-out concerts have quickly established them as one of the most exciting modern jazz ensembles on the London scene.

16th November, Bulls Head Jazz Club, Barnes, 373 Lonsdale Rd, SW13 9PY

Tomasz Zyrmont is an acclaimed London-based jazz pianist and composer, renowned for his captivating performances at major events such as the EFG London Jazz Festival, Wigmore Hall Lates, Yamaha Music Live, and the Jazz FM Discovery Show. A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, his career has taken him to leading stages across Europe and the USA, including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, the 606 Club, Boisdale Canary Wharf, and the British Parliament. His music has also reached global audiences through broadcasts on Jazz FM and other international radio stations.

Last year, Tomasz and his collaborators delighted Bulls Head audiences with a series of vibrant performances. Now, he returns to the stage with his Tomasz Zyrmont Quartet, presenting his latest compositions alongside timeless works by jazz legends.

Founded in 2023, the Tomasz Zyrmont Quartet unites some of London’s finest jazz musicians:

  • Sean Khan – saxophone
  • Tomasz Zyrmont – piano
  • Ben Hazleton – double bass
  • Filippo Galli – drums

Tomasz’s quartet blends lyrical sensitivity with bold rhythmic drive, and balancing modern creativity with deep respect for jazz tradition. Their sold-out concerts at Ognisko Polskie, Bulls Head Jazz Club, Jazz Café POSK, and Jazz Club Pod Filarami (Poland) have quickly established them as one of the most exciting modern jazz ensembles on the London jazz scene.

This concert promises an unforgettable evening of musical innovation, energy, and passion. Zyrmont has also recently completed recording his next album, due for release in the coming months.

Earlier this month, Tomasz was honoured with the prestigious ‘Merit for Polish Culture’ award by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to promoting Polish culture and jazz music in the UK.

Polish Fashion Stories: Unexpected Encounter – Batik

The earliest known examples of Polish batiks appeared around 1903 at an exhibition in Kraków, when the artist Jan Bukowski presented furniture upholstered in textiles decorated with what was called then “a manner of Easter eggs” - it was before the term batik had even entered the Polish language. From this point, other Kraków artists began to further explore the technique and its possibilities.
