As part of the 16th London Jazz All Souls’ Festival (Londyńskie Zaduszki Jazzowe),
The Curve in Slough will host Tribute to Polski Jazz this year — a unique musical project
created by drummer and producer Tomasz Mądzielewski. The project celebrates some
of the finest works of Polish jazz, popular music and fusion from the 1970s and 1980s,
presented in fresh, contemporary arrangements.

Tribute to Polski Jazz is a musical tribute to artists who have left a lasting mark on
Polish culture and created a distinctive sound recognised far beyond Poland’s borders.

The repertoire features compositions and songs associated with such legends as
Zbigniew Namysłowski, Wojciech Karolak, Michał Urbaniak, Ewa Bem, Andrzej
Zaucha and Zbigniew Wodecki. The concert programme combines instrumental classics
of Polish jazz with timeless vocal songs that have held a special place in the hearts of
listeners for decades.

Performing at The Curve

For this special occasion, the concert will feature musicians travelling from Poland:

• Adam Lemańczyk – piano, keyboards
• Ignacy Wendt – trumpet
• Tomasz Wendt – saxophone
• Jacek Namysłowski – trombone
• Paweł Biderman – guitar
  

The band will also be joined by vocalists associated with the Polish music scene in
London, Marta Mathea Radwan and Anita Łazińska, creating a unique meeting of
artists representing two important centres of Polish musical culture — Poland and the
United Kingdom.
The concert will be a special opportunity to hear fresh interpretations of songs and
compositions that have shaped the Polish music scene for decades. Carefully crafted
arrangements, outstanding musicianship and space for improvisation make every Tribute
to Polski Jazz performance a vibrant dialogue between tradition and contemporary
music.
It will be an evening filled with emotion, memories and exceptional music, celebrating the
legacy of some of Poland’s most distinguished jazz and popular music artists.
