Join harpsichordist and artistic director Katarzyna Kowalik for the world premiere of Meditations for Harpsichord, an innovative project exploring the meeting point of music, mindfulness, and contemporary creation. This landmark multidisciplinary event celebrates a three-part launch: the world premiere of nine newly commissioned works, the official release of the project’s CD recording on Prima Facie Records, and the launch of the companion book published by Vision Edition.

The Programme & Immersive Experience

The concert features brand-new works merging the harpsichord, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and electronics. This sonic fusion reimagines the historical instrument for the twenty-first century, bridging ancient traditions and modern electronic soundscapes. Audiences will be guided through a carefully curated journey designed to invite reflection, stillness, and deep listening.

The nine featured international composers are:

  • Rolf Hind
  • Nicola LeFanu
  • John Palmer
  • Janet Oates
  • Kevin Raftery
  • Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska
  • Andrzej Karałow
  • Dariusz Przybylski
  • Anna Maria Huszcza

Audience Comfort & Contemplation Guidelines

Attendees are warmly encouraged to experience the performance in whatever format feels most natural to their practice:

  • Seating options: Standard chairs and floor cushions are provided.
  • Deep meditation: You are welcome to bring a yoga mat to listen while lying down.
  • Personal items: Guests are invited to bring a personal object associated with contemplation or spiritual practice (such as crystals, rosary beads, or mala beads).
