Saturday 19 February 2022

Bar 7:30pm / music 8:30 pm

Tickets: £12 on the door or on Eventbrite

The Łyczacza band was founded in 2002 in Gdynia, Poland. The proximity of the sea resulted in music with roots and inspiration reaching to South America. Their music blends Latin jazz, pop and bossa nova. Artists who fascinated the band’s leader Maciej Łyszkiewicz are Sergio Mendes, Marcos Valle, A.C.Jobim and Joao Gilberto, among others.

Marta Kubaczyk is the vocalist and the voice of the band from the very beginning. She also writes most of the lyrics to the music of Maciek Łyszkiewicz. Łyczacza has released two albums – Latino’69 and Bossa Nova. Marta Kubaczyk and band’s trumpeter Tomek Pańków, have been living in London for many years.

At Jazz Cafe Posk they will play with the band’s leader, pianist Maciek Łyszkiewicz, founder of such Polish bands as No Limits, Leszcze and Iza & Latynoscy Brothers. It will be a unique concert of not only songs known from their two albums, but also several music premieres, and special guests will appear on stage, including great Brazilian musicians: bass player Felippe Oliveira and drummer Marius Rodrigues.

Line up:

Marta Kubaczyk – vocal

Tomek Pańków – trumpet

Felippe Oliveira – bass

Marius Rodrigues – drums

Maciej Łyszkiewicz- piano
