How can libraries contribute to sustainable development?

This is the topic of this year’s annual EUROLIS online seminar which will analyse experiences of libraries from different European countries over 3 weekly online seminars:

Wed 9th, 16th and 23rd November

Founded in 2002, EUROLIS is an association of librarians and information professionals from France, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Spain and the UK.

Through a series of online presentations from European speakers, this seminar will analyse experiences of how libraries from different European countries contribute significantly to sustainable development.

It will show what activities are being proposed that advocate the inclusion of libraries and access to information as part of national and regional development plans which will help meet the UN 2030 Agenda.

Seminar Chair & UK speaker: Ayub Khan, current President of Libraries Connected and recently been elected to the governing board of IFLA.

All sessions will be held o ZOOM. All sessions are in English. Time for questions sent via chat will be reserved at the end of each presentation.

The first session on 9th November will include experiences from Poland on the topic: “How public libraries in Poland respond to today’s challenges” with speaker Agnieszka Koszowska from Fundacja Rozwoju Społeczeństwa Informacyjnego
