Dekalog by Kieślowski at the Jerusalem Cinematheque

Dekalog stands as one of the most important works of the great Polish film director Krzysztof Kieślowski.

Now it will be available at the Jerusalem Cinematheque during January 2022.  

It is a series of ten made for television films that focus on the Ten Commandments and provide an artistic and cinematic reading of each one.

In November 2021 the series was screened at the Arava International Film Festival, now it will be available at the Jerusalem Cinematheque during January 2022.  

In addition to the films, a special exhibition about Polish photographer and camera-man Piotr Jaxa will be presented focusing on the many years of mutual work between him and Kieślowski.

The exhibition offers a look at the sets the Dekalog films were filmed at as well as offering a virtual tour of the locations it was filmed at. 

Dekalog – A Hommage to Krzysztof Kieślowski is presented in cooperation with AMI in Poland.

Polish film at the Jerusalem Jewish Film

The film “Cywia and Rachel” by Rafaël Lewandowski, which explores the lives of Rachel Auerbach and Cywia Lubetkin and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, will participate this year in the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival. The festival will focus on Jewish identity and culture and will present dozens of films and special events during the Hanukkah holiday.
