The Polish Story of Tel Aviv – New Tours in January

Due to the high interest in the December tours, two additional dates have been opened in January. The activity presents the sites, figures, and stories that reveal the contribution of the Jewish community from Poland to the establishment of Tel Aviv and the shaping of the State of Israel in its early years.

How accurate is the popular claim that Polish Jews played a key role in the building of Israel? How did this community develop, during which periods did it arrive to  Israel, and how did it maintain its ties to Polish culture?

Join historian and certified tour guide Jan Kirschenbaum for a walking tour uncovering the Polish stories hidden along Tel Aviv’s Allenby Street!

During the tour we will visit sites that once housed, among others, the legendary Neustein bookstore, the Polish–Palestinian Chamber of Commerce, and the Tel Aviv branch of PKO – the Polish National Bank.

The tour, held in Hebrew, will begin and end at 3 Rothschild Blvd., Tel Aviv. Afterwards, we will be happy to host the participants for light refreshments at the Polish Institute.

The activity lasts about three hours, including approximately two hours of walking. Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required. Places are limited!
