Doc-Aviv is a unique platform which serves documentary film makers with the intention of introducing new audiences to the genre and encouraging works which expand and investigate its limits.

Doc-Aviv the International Festival for Documentary Films is the only one in Israel entirely devoted to documentary films and is among the most esteemed ones in its field.

Every year the festival presents over one hundred new movies from Israel and the world as part of a rich and diverse program. Since 2018 Doc-Aviv had been selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (which awards the Oscars) as one of the leading festivals that, should one win an award during them, that film can be considered for an Academy Award.

This means that film makers who win an award during this festival in any category will be able to nominate their work for an Oscar.
