Seminar in tribute to Aleks Dancyg

Seminar commemorating Aleks Danzyg in cooperation with Yad Vashem, historical and educational institutes and the Polish Embassy in Tel Aviv

The Polish Institute is honored to participate in a seminar dedicated to the memory of Aleks Danzyg, kidnapped and murdered in Hamas captivity – a historian and guide, an ambassador of Polish history and culture in Israel, who contributed immensely to the dialogue between Poland and Israel. The event is a tribute paid by Yad Vashem, historical and educational institutes, the Polish Embassy and the Polish Institute to the figure of an irreplaceable historian, whose legacy we are obligated to cultivate and continue.

Among participants there will be also a guest from Poland – Karolina Jakoweńko, president of the Brama Cukermana Foundation in Będzin and a museologist at the House of Remembrance of the Jews of Upper Silesia in Gliwice, a close friend and collaborator of Aleks Danzyg in educational delegations of Israeli youth to Poland.

The seminar will be held on January 2, 2025 (Thursday) from 9:00 to 16:00.

Address: Yad Vashem, Mount Herzl, Jerusalem, Safra Hall
