Adam Golka Recital in Israel

On Friday, May 29, the Israeli Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv will host the Polish-American pianist Adam Golka for a special recital.

One of the most outstanding and compelling pianists of his generation, Golka is known for his ambitious artistic projects, most notably his performance of the complete cycle of Beethoven piano sonatas, which accompanied him throughout his twenties. Presented with the support of the Polish Institute under the title “New Horizons,” the concert offers a versatile and challenging program connecting different periods and styles. At the center of the evening will be Frederic Chopin’s 12 Études, Op. 25, alongside works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Schoenberg. Marking the 80th anniversary of the Conservatory, Golka will also perform the pieces “Meetings in the Fog” and “Sea Mirrors” by the Israeli composer Yehezkel Braun.

Golka brings to the stage not only extraordinary technical mastery, but also intellectual depth developed through years of work with some of the world’s leading musicians, including Alfred Brendel and Sir András Schiff. This recital offers a rare opportunity for an intimate encounter with an artist who bridges the Polish tradition of Chopin with a broad classical and modern repertoire.

Program:

Beethoven — Piano Sonata No. 24 in F-sharp major, Op. 78, “À Thérèse”

Schoenberg — Three Piano Pieces, Op. 11

Brahms — Piano Sonata No. 2 in F-sharp minor, Op. 2

Yehezkel Braun — “Meetings in the Fog” and “Sea Mirrors” from Foreign Landscapes

Chopin — 12 Études, Op. 25
