The 5th edition of the International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe Eufonie will take place in Warsaw, from 17 to 25 November.

The leitmotif of of this year’s edition is folk tradition in music, resounding in works of numerous composers from our region. In the finale we will hear Jutrznia – a monumental, two-part work by Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki, performed by approximately 230 artists.

Eufonie is a festival referring to the traditions of Central and Eastern Europe but going beyond strict geographical definitions and presenting the musical heritage of the region stretching from the Balkans to the Baltic countries and even Scandinavia. This area is a fascinating melting pot of clashing influences from the East and the West, bursting with cultural energy. The Eufonie festival provides special encounters with most beautiful sounds and music masters from Central and Eastern Europe and creates an extremely valuable space for meeting and dialogue and is an excellent opportunity to discover and taste the cultural richness of our region. The Eufonie festival is unique because on the one hand, it draws on tradition, and on the other, it presents whole new, never-before-discovered sounds. Cultural events such as Eufonie are a proof that we belong to a regional community and serve as a reference to common values communicated through culture. They also encourage deeper reflection on the culture of our region.

In the previous editions of Eufonie, the most outstanding composers, conductors and musicians appeared on the festival stages, such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Arvo Pärt, Valentyn Silvestrov, Gidon Kremer, Anne Sophie-Mutter, Max Emanuel Cenčić, Francesco Tristano, Jan Lisiecki, Veriko Tchumburidze, Omer Meir Wellber, Andrey Boreyko, Jacek Kaspszyk, Olari Elts, Anu Tali, Mark Coppey, David Krakauer, Javier Zafra, Aleksandra Kurzak, Pavol Breslik, László Fassang, Antonii Baryshevskyi, Lukáš Vondráček, Luka Okros, Oval, Narek Hakhnazaryan, Alvin Curran, Wiener Symphoniker, Ars Antiqua Austria, Latvian Radio Choir, Zagreb Soloists, Royal String Quartet and many others.
