You are invited to a series of six free lectures on Polish literature, held in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful central London location at Smithfield Market.

You are invited to a series of six free lectures on Polish literature, held in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful central London location at Smithfield Market.

The lectures will be delivered in Polish by Joanna Strelnik, who holds a Master of Arts degree in Polish Literature from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Tea and coffee will be provided during a break, and participants are welcome to stay for lunch afterwards.

This landmark of Polish cinema is based on the infamous ‘demonic possession’ of a group of nuns in Loudun, France in 1634, which led to a priest being burnt at the stake. These scandalous events also inspired Aldous Huxley’s 1952 novel The Devils of Loudon, and Ken Russell’s notorious 1971 film The Devils.
