Preview Screening with Q&A.
Gareth Jones, former advisor to Prime Minister Lloyd George, goes East to discover if all the talk he has been hearing about the success of the Soviet State is true. Once there he discovers the horrors of the Stalinist regime first-hand, but in a world built on lies, will anyone believe him? Based on the true story of the civil servant-turned journalist who inspired George Orwell to write Animal Farm and 1984, this is a timely film about the importance of speaking truth to power, from Oscar-nominated Polish director Agnieszka Holland.
Mr Jones (2020) was directed by Agnieszka Holland and stars James Norton, Vanessa Kirby, Peter Sarsgaard and Celyn Jones.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with key creatives.
