5th International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe Eufonie

Let us meet at the Eufonie festival and immerse ourselves in the waves of beautiful sounds...

17th – 25th November, various venues, Warsaw

Eufonie as a festival refers to the traditions of Central and Eastern Europe but goes beyond strict geographical definitions to present the musical heritage of a region that stretches from the Balkans to the Baltic countries, and even Scandinavia. This area is a fascinating melting pot of clashing influences from the East and the West, bursting with cultural energy.

The leitmotif of of this year’s edition is folk tradition in music, resounding in works of numerous composers from our region. The festival features 14 events presenting works by outstanding composers such as: Bela Bartok, Bedřich Smetana, Nina Šenk, Franz Liszt, Zoltán Kodály, György Ligeti, Roby Lakatos, Witold Lutosławski, Andrzej Panufnik, and Krzysztof Penderecki. As in previous editions, it will be presented in classical, experimental, jazz, and traditional forms.

Renowned orchestras, outstanding soloists and extraordinary conductors will perform at the festival: BBC Symphony Orchestra, Vadim Gluzman, Leonora Armellini, Tomasz Konieczny, Thomas Sanderling, Zsolt Nagy, Olari Elts, Marek Moś, Tomáš Netopil, Anna Sułkowska-Migoń (winner of the La Maestra 2022 competition), RTV Symphony Orchestra Slovenia, Sinfonia Varsovia, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, AUKSO, Hover State Chamber Choir and many others. In the finale we will hear Jutrznia – a monumental, two-part work by Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki, performed by approximately 230 artists.
