Why Culture Matters in Bad Times 🗺
In times of war and catastrophe it may seem, there is no place for culture. When survival is at stake, beauty seems irrelevant. But real wars – especially Russia´s war against Ukraine – show otherwise. This lecture offers four reasons, why culture matters amid violence. It cannot stop those, who come to kill and destroy, but it can do other things: strengthen community, connect us to other times, break silence, bear witness and remind us of our values.
